Why have I received this email?

Your email address is currently registered as an owner of a Flex Energy Monitor.

 

If your home has solar panels, the energy monitor is most likely to have been installed at the same time.

 

The energy monitor can be found in your home’s switchboard and will look very similar to the image below.

 

What is the Flex Energy Monitor?

The Flex Energy Monitor is a small device, installed in your home’s switchboard, that uses cables clipped to your mains and other electricity circuits to monitor and report on things such as household power consumption, solar generation, and solar export.

 

The device connects to either your home WiFi network or via the mobile phone network to transmit the data to the cloud, which is then made available for you via an app and/or an browser based portal.

What is PowerPlay?

PowerPlay is an app that was developed by Energy Matters for customers to view the data collected by their energy monitor.

 

PowerPlay will be decommissioned on June 30th 2020.

Why is PowerPlay being decommissioned?

PowerPlay was developed and owned by Energy Matters. Energy Matters ceased operations in Australia in late 2018 and sold PowerPlay to Edge Electrons.

 

Following a review of the existing app and backend infrastructure, Edge Electrons decided to cease updates to PowerPlay and build a new, more robust, more user-friendly app called edgeConX.

 

As all existing PowerPlay users can access edgeConX with their existing login details, we have taken the decision to decommission PowerPlay and migrate all users across to our new platform.

When is PowerPlay being decommissioned?

PowerPlay will be cease functionality on June 30, 2020. At that time all logins to the platform will be disabled and the app removed from the App Store and Google Play.

Who supports my warranty now Energy Matters is closed?

The warranty for products purchased from Energy Matters, including any monitors, panels, and inverters, prior to their closure in 2018 is now managed by a 3rd party company called Skybridge.

What is edgeConX?

edgeConX is an energy monitoring app, owned and developed by Edge Electrons as a replacement for the PowerPlay app.

 

It is available for use by all existing PowerPlay using their existing login details.

How do I download edgeConX?

edgeConX is available for download from the App store and Google Play by following the links below.

I don’t know my login information?

Your login information is;

 

Username – the same email address that you’ve received this email to

Password – the password you selected when signing up.

 

If you don’t know your password, you can complete a password reset via the following link

I’ve logged in and it says my energy monitor is offline – how do I fix this?

If the app shows your unit as being disconnected, or you’ve looked at the unit in your switchboard and less than 3 of the lights are off or blinking, you can visit the following page for step by step instructions on getting your energy monitor back online.
